Optimum Helium Antennas. Why choose the highly tuned Mcgill Microwave Antenna?

McGill Microwave Systems have launched a brand new range of 3dBi and 6 dBi High Performance, Optimised Helium Antennas which are offering superior Power Transmission compared to other commercially available alternative non optimised VSWR Antenna designs.

These new Antenna designs have been specifically tuned to operate with peak performance over only the frequency band of interest to UK/EU Helium Hotspot operators – the UK/EU 868 frequency band.

Optimised Helium Antennas – Why do tuned antennas offer better coverage?

Most commercially available Helium Hotspot Antenna designs available today are designed to be universal – meaning that the one product has been designed to cover both the UK/EU868 and US 915 Frequency bands – resulting in designs which may have been compromised to enable them to cover the entire frequency range.

McGill Microwave’s optimised Antennas have been specifically manufactured to work their best at the UK and USA Helium frequency bands. This has resulted in McGill Microwave selecting to have antennas specifically manufactured and tuned for both the EU frequency band and the USA Frequency band.

Using Optimised Helium Antennas – What is the result?

The Optimised helium antennas feature a superior VSWR performances of 1.5:1 maximum – which immediately results in over +7% more transmitted, non reflected Power from your Antenna and reduced Mis-match loss when compared to many of the commercially available 2:1 VSWR performance Antenna designs. This is also combined with an excellent 35 +/- degrees signal radiation footprint.

Has any VSWR Testing been carried out?

Yes – all antennas are checked for broadband VSWR performance before leaving the McGill Microwave Facility.

Mcgill Microwave use fully calibrated Metrology Grade Scalar Network Analysers to perform RF Microwave Transmission tests. A recent test on our 6dbi tuned antena can be seen below which also offers superior broadband VSWR performance. Additionally – the Radiation footprint of the antenna remains unaffected by the large reduction of reflected power.

Our recent RF Performance tests show a VSWR reading of as low as 1.03:1 within the helium frequency band EU868!

Are there radiation Patterns for the Optimised Helium Antennas?
